BIO

In Fall 2014, Kenneth Ning launched his eponymous menswear collection.  A native of San Francisco, Ning moved to New York after debuting his senior thesis at the Academy of Art University group fashion show in Bryant Park during New York Fashion Week. After graduating with a BFA in Menswear in 2007, he started his career with a design internship at Michael Kors. Ning then worked as a menswear designer at American Rag, where he was able to translate his playful design aesthetic to a broader audience all the while gaining exposure to the business side of fashion.  
Upon leaving American Rag he worked at Calvin Klein, helping in the launch of the brand’s men’s performance line. Since starting his collection, Kenneth has implemented his passion for meticulous tailoring and disruptive proportions into a youthful, wearable-cool approach. His label has quickly developed a following both domestically and in Asia and Europe, with stockists including International Playground and Isetan. In 2015, New York Men’s Day selected Ning to show his Spring 2016 collection for the relaunch of the menswear-dedicated fashion week.  Since 2015, he has been a mainstay at New York Fashion Week: Men’s, consistently garnering press attention from various outlets including The New York Times, WWD and Wallpaper Magazine. 
Drawing inspiration from classic films and dark cinematic plotlines, Kenneth utilizes his passion for detailed craftsmanship, innovative draping and technically forward textile development to create conceptual narratives that play on the imagination.  With a keen eye for design details and an ongoing pursuit to redefine modern luxury, Kenneth pushes the boundaries of menswear, elevating traditional silhouettes and blurring gender lines.  
As the Kenneth Ning Collection evolves each season, Ning welcomes the challenge of continuing to create compelling designs and staying true to his deconstruction and tailoring creative aesthetic.
